With the launch of the collaboration between LuLaRoe and Disney imminent, many Disney fans who have never been LuLaRoe fans are now flocking to the brand to prep up for some highly coveted Disney LuLaRoe style. I’ll admit, I’ve never been a huge fan. The fabric on the leggings feels great, but the waistband does not. They lost me with a separate elastic on the top of the waistband instead of a wider band w/ a foldover for the fabric instead of a stitched edge – the holy grail of comfy leggings (Victoria’s Secret why did you abandon this?!). Plus, I’m in between the two legging sizes – One Size (OS) leggings give me serious camel toe and are so tight they look like those tights male dancers wear in a ballet. The Tall & Curvy (TC) leggings have so much excessive fabric that the crotch sags low and when I’m walking I feel like they’re turning into a weird version of MC Hammer pants that leave me tugging at the leggings all day long to rid myself of the discomfort in between my thighs. This is a personal problem for sure, I’m right at the end of the OS size range and at the beginning of the TC size range. I wear a size 12 pant for reference and I’m 5’9. (Maybe if I can ever get this baby weight off I’ll be able to start reaping the benefits of these “butter leggings”, lol).
In addition to this, some of their prints and the style of knotting an oversized shirt or dress I the front is just way too 1993 for me. Seriously, a large portion of the prints and outfits I see cause the Regina George in my head to snottily say “Stop trying to make 1993 happen”.
But alas, their Disney stuff is CUTE. SUPER CUTE. Over the top cute! And for a Disney junkie like me, who’s there at least once a month, I NEED them. So, in an effort to get on board with the LuLaRoe revolution, I spent the better part of my “phone time” this weekend diving into all things LuLaRoe, so I’ll save you the energy and give you the cliff notes version of what I learned here.
***Disclaimer before we begin: I’m no LLR expert, just an unbiased newbie***
LuLaRoe Basic #1 – How to Buy
You can’t buy LuLaRoe in a store. You can’t go to a single website and search all their inventory. You must buy it from a consultant. You can buy LLR three main ways from a consultant:
- On the Consultant’s LLR group from their album sales, their live streams (which consultants seem to do often for “pop the box” when new stuff comes in
- At an in-home (or similar) party. I went to one at a daycare last weekend. It was nice to get to touch the stuff and see it IRL.
- My favorite way: Multi-consultant groups on Facebook, where many consultants post their inventory and you have tons of options to shop from.
*Bonus way: Post what you want to find on the LuLaRoe Party Links facebook page and tons of consultants will post items that have that fit your description. It’s super efficient.
Here’s an example of what a Facebook Group Page looks like (and go join Shannon Cecil’s group asap! She’s great!)
**Special Note: Consultants never know what they are going to get. They only request the styles and sizes and the prints/colors the receive in those are a total surprise! No two consultant will have the same inventory, so connect with lots of consultants so you make sure you can increase your chances of finding exactly what you want.
LuLaRoe Basic #2 – What is there to buy?
There are several styles of LuLaRoe, but today I’ll share what I have perceived to be the most popular over my two day LLR binge.
1.) Leggings. Oh, the Leggings. This one is short and sweet. There are two options: One Size (OS) or Tall & Curvy (TC)….(Remember those acronyms, that’s how nearly all leggings are labeled.

2.) The Shirts. There are 4 main shirt options – Randy, Classic, Perfect, and Irma.
- Each has their own fit, with varying lengths about how much of your **assets** are covered. See picture below.

Note that the model here is wearing different sizes in each of the styles. We’ll get into sizes in a minute.
- Randy is the snuggest fit.
- Irma has snug arms and a lot of rear coverage
- Perfect is the most flowy
My personal fav? Irma and Classic. Finally, a shirt that is long enough to cover my backside. It’s a miracle.
3.) The Dresses. There are a handful of different dress styles, it seems like the most popular is the Carly.

Don’t get too hung up on the sizing chart here…I promise we are going to get there! The Carly is a loose fitting knit dress that is very forgiving and very versatile. Examples to come.
There are four other primary dress styles that I see pop up a lot: Amelia, Ana, Nicole, and Julia. These are more fitted and could realistically be used easier for work/dressier events.

4.) The Skirts. There are 6 basic style ranging from pencil to flowy to maxi.
![13413444_1817043608516026_733386890_n[1]](https://southernsupplyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/13413444_1817043608516026_733386890_n1.jpg?w=443&h=443)
5.) Everything else. The above items are the most popular LLR items, but they have other items as well such as:
- Kids items (I love the Mae dress!)
- Men’s shirts
- Duster/Cardigan type items for Women
LuLaRoe Basic #3 – What Size should I Buy?
Let me just share right off the top: LLR sizing is a little crazy. Actually, just crazy.
- For one, in some styles you have to size up or down two or more sizes to get your normal fit. Not too many items seem “true to size”. I found this size chart below which seems to be the holy grail for starting points on size. But don’t stop here…continue on after the chart to point #2 about sizing.
![Full-size-chart-1024x791[1]](https://southernsupplyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/full-size-chart-1024x7911.jpg?w=676)
2. These clothes are like the jeans in the sisterhood of the traveling pants in reverse or something. No matter the size, they seem to be wearable and actually look good on the same person. Case in point:
![de57fa2e37bd1ae8478777c71738b4e1[1]](https://southernsupplyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/de57fa2e37bd1ae8478777c71738b4e11.jpg?w=676)
But SERIOUSLY?! How is this lady wearing the same dress in an XS all the way to an XL and it still look decent. It’s mind blowing. One more example of the madness:
![CqqfFPkUMAAaODJ[1]](https://southernsupplyblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/cqqffpkumaaaodj1.jpg?w=676)
In all honesty, all of these look pretty good except for 3XL in my opinion, which gets a little maternity-ish on this model without any modifications (more on that, next!). But she’s wearing the same style in sizes XS-3XL and they all look acceptable! It’s miraculous.
So, use the size guide above with lists each 00-26 size and it’s corresponding size in each of the various LuLaRoe style (most of them, anyway), as a starting point. Then, know that you can change the look up all together by modifying your size.
I personally started out buying my “true” corresponding size, and now I’ve been sizing up or down depending on the specific look or level of comfort I want. It’s so easy to personalize.
LuLaRoe Basic #4 – How do I style it?
I want to start off by admitting that I am really crappy at “styling” myself. I basically suck at accessories, I’m usually in a hurry, I am all about being able to put zero thought into my outfit and still look at least half-way cute, so I have never ventured too far out with my “styling”. However, LLR has got me pondering this.
Styling thought #1
This is my opinion only, but my first thought when I think LLR is OMG THE PATTERNS ITS TOO MUCH. I’m really a solids person. But, I have been venturing out into the world of patterns thanks to the Ann Taylor monkey crops.
Anyway, beware the patterns. In my world, you can go overboard with patterns, and it’s not pretty. My general rule or thumb is to pair a pattern with a solid, or another subtle pattern like a monocolor herringbone style or something like that.
Styling thought #2
There are a bazillion styling options on Pintrest. If you want ideas about styling a certain item. Hit up the Pin.
Styling examples I’m super impressed by:

This is an Irma! The tunic shirt! I mean, my jaw dropped. Mad props to the person that figured out all this styling. You can seriously wear this shirt so many ways. Mind. Blown. The one should will be a must try for me. I’ll probably get a 2XL to try it with. Stay tuned.

Here’s some examples of some more basic styling for four of the dress options. I like the Julia pulled up to tunic length.
LuLaRoe Wrap Up
So all in all, LuLaRoe is worth a shot. Even though I’m not a fan of the way their leggings fit, I do love some of the super fun prints (hot dogs anyone?!) that are great for special occasions. I am a big fan of their tops since it’s genuinely hard to find tunic tops that length. The dresses are cute too, I have a Carly on the way and I’m excited to try it!
Have more questions? More juicy LLR deets? Drop me a comment! In the meantime, go find some great LuLaRoe groups on facebook and get ready to Disney!!
